I tutored my daughter to a perfect 36 in English and 34 in Reading. In the four years since then, I have tutored students in SAT, ACT, and PSAT Reading and English test prep. Since my time is only focused on this area, I have an exceptional understanding of what it takes for students to improve their scores. My approach is effective. I will first assess your student’s needs relative to the skills that are essential to scoring well on the test. I will then review and/or re-teach areas which need strengthening. Once your child has an understanding of these areas, we begin to work practice questions, reviewing all incorrect answers together. I then will customize questions for each subsequent lesson based on their results and progress to date. No time will be wasted in areas that they already have mastered. Together, we also will develop a customized test-taking approach that works best for your child for each section or type of question. This is key to your child's test-day confidence both in their mastery of the subject matter itself and in their ability to complete all questions within the time allotted. Just prior to test day, I can also help your child design an effective test-day morning routine which addresses their dietary needs and what works best for him/her to mentally prepare for the test. If your child is willing to put in the necessary effort, my holistic tutoring methods will quickly produce tangible improvement in their SAT/ACT scores in Reading and English. My customized one-on-one approach will better focus your child's efforts only on areas needing improvement. I will prioritize your child's lesson plan to emphasize those subjects and methods which will have the greatest impact on their scores based on their unique strengths and weaknesses. I will identify and drill on your child's most effective test-taking approach based on their individual skills and preferences. Upon completion of my program, your child will approach the test with much more confidence and will be empowered to succeed on test day.

I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters and with extended family and friends. I love reading and being outdoors (especially hiking and biking). I also enjoy watching sports on TV, especially football, soccer, and baseball.
