Baylor University B. S. in Elementary Ed., Special Ed. and ESL certified Tutored at "The Learning Place" while going to college. Completed numerous workshops and in-services during my years in education. Led in-services, shared information with colleagues, always reading and studying new ways to teach and reach my students. Every year was a new year because I enjoyed trying new and different ways of meeting my students' needs.
Experience
I have taught regular and special education, all subjects in K-4 in the public school for 20 years. During that time I have tutored students as well. I chose to stay home for a while to be able to be more accessible to my boys. I miss teaching so I'm eager to get back to what I enjoy! Having three boys of my own, I can relate to them very well. Each one of my boys is so different. I think girls are sweet and I enjoy spending time with them since I'm always out-numbered! Even our dog is male;-) I enjoy getting to know my students so I can connect with each one and believe differentiation is the key to each child's success in school. I enjoy using hands-on materials (manips) when teaching reading and math because it is so helpful to the majority of children.

Hobbies
I enjoy reading, learning, the outdoors, gardening, family, traveling, and teaching anyone who wants to learn! I am very curious and always eager to learn anything that becomes interesting to me. I take time to learn new information so I can then share with others. I suppose it's the "teacher" in me that is always wanting to share knowledge.
